“W A N T E D On The Twenty Dollar Bill” They put a man on the moon faster than it would take to change paper money. Trump doesn’t want to be seen as the person who allowed Harriet Tubman to be put on a 20-dollar bill during his administration. In this painting-The clouds represent escaping the cotton fields of the past. The red on her scarf represents a head injury leading to her visions from god to follow the northern star. The light beams shooting from her arms represents her role as a guiding light to freedom. The legs under her dress are the many slaves she lead to freedom. HISTORY Harriet Tubman was an American abolitionist and political activist who made some thirteen missions to rescue approximately seventy enslaved people, family and friends, using the network of antislavery activists and safe houses known as the Underground Railroad. She later helped abolitionist John Brown recruit men for his raid on Harpers Ferry. During the American Civil War, she served as an armed scout and spy for the United States Army. In her later years, Tubman was an activist in the struggle for women's suffrage.
